Salem Chapter of The Weston A. Price Foundation
by Nate Rafn
A group of Salem-area residents is forming a local chapter of The Weston A. Price Foundation. They are hosting a meeting on September 27th to discuss the importance of nutrient-rich foods and cultured dairy products, among other subjects.
The Weston A. Price Foundation is "a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston Price, whose studies of isolated nonindustrialized peoples established the parameters of human health and determined the optimum characteristics of human diets. Dr. Price's research demonstrated that humans achieve perfect physical form and perfect health generation after generation only when they consume nutrient-dense whole foods and the vital fat-soluble activators found exclusively in animal fats," according to its mission statement. Additional information can be found at www.westonaprice.org.
The Salem chapter is being organized in part by Linda Ellis, Nutritional Therapist and owner of Good Earth Farm, located just south of Salem.
"Our chapter will provide information for those in the Salem area searching for healthy, clean, nourishing, grass-fed food choices based on the principals of Weston A. Price," says Ellis. "Our monthly meetings will be fun and interactive, providing support and information. There will be food preparation demonstrations, films, pot lucks and discussion of specific topics."
Those interested in attending this event should contact Linda Ellis to RSVP. Please see the information below.
