Marion-Polk Food Share is hosting a plant sale on Saturday July 9th, 11am-3pm, at their warehouse parking lot. Proceeds will benefit Sunnyside Organics, a local non-profit organization that uses agricultural activities to offer vocational training and horticultural therapy to adults with disabilities.
There are several plants for sale, including culinary herbs, hanging baskets, and a large selection of flowers. Plants are all grown by Sunnyside Organics program participants. Plants left over from the sale will be donated to area community gardens.
Those attending are encouraged to bring sheets of fabric to help make rag rugs as part of the Women Ending Hunger Women’s Work initiative, a program of Marion-Polk Food Share in partnership with Sunnyside Organics.
For more information, contact Cynthia Lester at 503-308-6917.
