Edible Portland 2012 Local Hero Awards

Edible Portland is now accepting nominations for their 2012 Local Hero Awards. They are looking for inspiring organizations and individuals in the local food community. The categories this year are Farm/Farmer, Restaurant/Chef, Food Artisan, Beverage Artisan, Nonprofit, and Retail Business.

During the month of November, readers will vote from the top four nominees in each category. Winners are announced in February 2012.

Portland to get a dose of Mid-Valley cuisine

Living Culture now airs on Willamette Valley Television (KWVT) throughout the Portland metro area.

KWVT recently installed a transmitter on Portland's Skyline Ridge. The new signal covers the entire metropolitan area. Viewers will find KWVT on DTV channel 17.2.

New television commercial for McK Ranch

The owners of McK Ranch have expanded their farming operation to include pasture-raised chicken and eggs, fresh milk, McK Ranch wines, and regional buying clubs.

This new television ad for McK Ranch airs during Living Culture commercial breaks on KWVT in the Willamette Valley, and CGN-7 in the Columbia Gorge.

KWVT and Living Culture expand to reach Southern Willamette Valley

Salem's only broadcast station has expanded to serve Albany, Lebanon, and Corvallis.

KWVT, also known as Willamette Valley Television, installed a new transmitter on Peterson Butte, two miles west of Lebanon. The transmitter will relay all of KWVT's current programming, including Living Culture, Garden Time, Fusion, Green Science Oregon, and other locally produced shows.

According to KWVT, the signal has been confirmed in Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Philomath, Adair Village, Independence, Rickreall and West Salem. Viewers may need to rescan their converter box.
